Continuing the Calloway Sister's book series with an interesting turn of events. Ryke and Daisy have harboured a scandalous sexual attraction to each other for years. The main opposing reason for their attraction is Daisy's young age and Ryke's brother Lo's hell-bent desire on killing Ryke if he considers acting on his attraction. As their friendship blossoms and both struggle to not act on their feelings there is only one way this can go.

Daisy is suffering. Her PTSD is out of control and her sleepless nights are leaving her more anxious than ever, add her controlling mother and the never-ending fight to get away from the paparazzi it is no wonder that 18-year-old Daisy cannot cope. Thankfully, her best friend and protector Ryke is more than willing to help her in any way he can. Looking under the bed for demons? check. Making sure the windows and doors are locked. check. Sharing a bed and trying so hard to not kiss her beautiful face? begrudgingly - check.

As the book evolves it becomes clear to the reader that the bond between Ryke and Daisy is far more than the suspicions Lo has about his brother. This is not a grown man grooming a young girl - he takes his time caring for her like a sister and setting boundaries for both of them. His love and admiration for her are far more than skin-deep. When Daisy has to go to Paris for a fashion show, her anxiety is at an all-time high despite the humiliation she receives at the hand of fashion moguls (body shaming a perfect human specimen as fat?! Are you kidding me?!). Daisy turns to no other person than Ryke to be her knight in shining armour.

Add more drama to the occasion with Lo breaking his sobriety, Lily and Rose hiding secrets, Conner being Conner, and a brutal attack leaving Daisy scarred, the relationship between all the characters come full circle. Daisy and Ryke finally take the steps to be in a relationship and with the blessing of their closest friends and family everything is all well.

Until Ryke gets accused of statutory rape...

Without a doubt the twists and turns of this book kept me gripping my e-reader eager to see what would happen next. My love for the budding relationship between Ryke and Daisy is unparalleled. I see myself in these two stubborn and seductive characters and I adore how the relationship has come about. It becomes clear to the reader that this is not a rash decision made by a once childish girl and a devilish man taking advantage of her weak state. The friendship is true, the love is true, and it is truly something to envy.

As far as books go, I really enjoyed the story in this one. The plot was a constant stream of playful banter, flirtations, and the inevitable drama and made for one of the best-written romances in the Calloway Sisters series.
